Add colleagues or companies to your profile by clicking “search” next to Colleagues / Freelancer or Companies in your profile. Many members have succesfully found work in the industry by networking with other freelancers and companies in their field. |

VFXrecruit launched on 4th October 2007 and after just 7 weeks more than 1100 film and visual effects artists have signed up and 100 postproduction companies. This number is continuously growing. The website is created by visual effects artist from London and it is a completely independent website. The aim is to make a networking website for postproduction companies and artists that will make it easier for companies to find talent and for artists to find and apply for jobs.
The website presents a unique and new way of networking in the film and visual effects industry with the main aim of bringing the industry closer together and making the job application easier. More than 100 jobs have already been posted on the site and the number is growing. |

Do I have to pay to use VFXrecruit? |

No. VFXrecruit is completely free; however you can upgrade your profile to a premium profile with extra great features (coming soon). VFXrecruit takes no commission for jobs found here, nor do companies have to pay to post jobs or news. |

What about my privacy and information on VFXrecruit? |

We take your privacy very seriously here on VFXrecruit.
For freelancers, nobody can see your details unless you link up with them and only you decide who you want to link up with. You can also hide your date of birth; address and phone number if you click “edit” in the Information section on your profile.
For companies, all members of VFXrecruit will be able to see company profiles including jobs and news posted there. Freelancers can also see job postings in “See all Jobs” and the VFXarena.

What is the Instant Messenger? |

The Instant Messenger is part of VFXrecruit profiles and present a way of easy communication between linked users. Click “Instant Messenger” on your profile page. You will see a new window with a list on the right side. You can chat with people directly here, but you have to be connected with people to see their names in the list. How do I edit my profile? |

You can edit the different part of your profile by clicking the small “edit”, “add” or “upload” links just right of the section title on your profile. |

After you have uploaded the show reel it is converted into flash video. Most formats and codecs are supported, however a few are not. We recommend QuickTime compressed with the H264 codec. Also the max limit you can upload is 100mb. |

You public profile is a profile you can send to friends or companies. All the details in your profile is viewable, but only you decides who you want to send it to. |

How can I get a recommendation on VFXrecruit? |
|

You can always contact colleagues or companies and ask them to endorse you on VFXrecruit. To recommend you they will have to visit your profile (so make sure you are connected) and in the bottom of your profile they can click “add” in the recommendation section to write a recommendation. You will then have to accept the recommendation before it is viewable on your profile. |

Go to the user’s page that you want to recommend. On the bottom of his profile you can click “add” in the recommendation section to write a recommendation. Once the user has accepted your recommendation, it will be viewable on his profile. |

There is a small icon next to the posted job/news click it and you can either delete the entry or edit it. Freelancers will be notified when you edit news or jobs. |

How do I link up with other users of VFXrecruit? |
|

You can link up with other people by clicking “search” in the freelancer/colleague or companies section in your profile. In the Search window you can search on the people you want to link up with. Once found you select them and send an add request, once they have accepted this you are then linked up and can start communicating through the Instant Messenger or internal emails. You will also receive latest news from your colleagues or companies when they update their profile. |

How can I find freelancers for my company? |

Click “search” in the freelancers section on your profile. In the window you can search on the skills and artists you need. You then have to select the freelancer you would like to contact and send an add request. Once the freelancer have accepted, then you are linked up and can see his profile and start using Instant Messenger, send emails and much more. There are more than 1000 freelancers on VFXrecruit. |

How do I invite other people or companies to Join VFXrecruit? |

Click “Invite colleagues/companies” on your profile. Here you can type in an email address to the person you want to invite. If the person is already a member on VFXrecruit, then the email will not be sent. Here you can also import your Outlook contacts and select from them who you want to invite. All invitations sent are much appreciated. |

I am looking for work – what should I do? |
|

First you should fill out your profile with as many details as possible. The more complete your profile is the higher your chances are of finding a job and getting noticed. Then visit company profiles and check if they have job postings there. You can also click “See all Jobs” on your profile page to see all jobs posted on VFXrecruit. You can send an email to the company by clicking “Apply” in the list, this email contains a link to your public profile which is viewable for all even non-members of VFXrecruit. It is recommendable to alter the text in the email, however keep the link to your profile in tact, so that companies can view your profile. |
